Engage was established to ensure young people play an active role in their own self-development and growth out of the school environment. Engage consists of two approaches, our youth hub supports drop in’s after school, and our school’s holiday programme, ensures young people on free school meals, have a ‘holiday. Both encourage young people to try new hobbies, learn skills, further their opportunities, and community involvement.

School Holiday’s Programme

Not every young person gets the holiday they deserve, often due to financial hardship, lack of opportunities, or other barriers. 

At LNK, we prioritise providing access to a warm meal, experiences,  skills development, and fun during school breaks, ensuring young people have a safe and engaging place to go. Our Engage out-of-term programme offers activities like sports, trips, and creative sessions.

We support up to 24 young people aged 10 - 16, during all half terms, Easter and the Summer Holidays.

Youth Hub

A drop in for young people running on Mondays (15:00–17:00) and Fridays (15:00–18:30). The hub offers:

  • One-to-one support – helping young people build confidence and set goals
  • Drop-in support – a space where young people can talk to trusted adult
  • Social activities – including: meeting new people, gaming with friends, table tennis, pool and a reading corner

Youth clubs have long been at the heart of communities, and many believe their decline is linked to rising societal challenges. Our Youth Hub, at the LNK Unit, in the heart or Croydon provides a safe space for young people to socialise, study, express themselves, and enjoy being young. Our dedicated youth workers offer guidance, support, and a trusted presence to ensure a positive and enriching environment.
